Welcome to our Sweet Talking Man's web page. Here you will meet and get to know our terrific young stud cat whom we raised since he was 4 months old.
We entered our boy in the National Cat Show of 2000. There he obtained one challenge and subsequently in the Auckland Cat Club Show that year, he received 3 more challenges. Thus he obtained his Championship Status.(he only needed 3 to qualify for Championship, but it's great that he received Challenges in all three Rings in our local show.)
He too was staying at our Vet's - Mary Austin Cat Clinic - whilst we moved house and set up his new Stud quarters. While he was there, he was extremely well looked after - pampered is more like it:
We look forward to a new (late starting) kitten season and our great young lad I know will do his best (!!!!) to sire a major portion of great quality kittens!
My good friend and I brought him home from his breeder's house in Rotorua in one of the hottest days I can ever remember! Lucky my friend had a fully air conditioned 4-wheel drive vehicle.
And there he sat - like a little Sultan - in his travel case - the soft cool air on his little face - big blue eyes staring out of the windows, like he had done this all of his young life. When we stopped a few times for coffee and a stretch, he came with us (they loved him in the CafeŽ) and we were impressed by his brave and friendly nature.

Wintoki Sweet Talking Man shortly after he came to live with us. he had the biggest bluest eyes I had ever seen in a Colourpoint this light coloured. He still does!
The colours of his kittens of course depend on the queen - among the colours produced are - Blue, Red, Bluepoint, Redpoint, Creampont, Lilac/Cream Point, Lilac/Cream, Sealpoint, Chocolate Point, Seal Tortie Point, Chocolate Tortie Point.

Hekla Gabriel - A sealpoint Male - mother - our Ch Hekla Jellybean Rose.
When we got home, he strutted out of his travel case and began to tell us all about it. He was a real sweetie (aptly named) from the start and so that was his pet name - Sweetie. Not a faint hearted puss may I add, just a loving little boy who grew up to be a huge and healthy strapping lad and who kept his loving friendly nature.
Time passed and as he grew up he stayed in-house with us, as Asgeir was building him his own Stud House and Run. By the time he was 8 months old, it was ready but he wasn't (he was still such a smoochy kitten), but the day came when he went to live in his quarters (he was 13 months old), with exercise runs and lots of time out to wander in and out of his house.
We were excited when he showed his first interest in a lady cat. The books said that an experienced queen should be used for his first mating and so it was - our Senior Queen - Tamsin - was first in line. From that coupling, two babes were born - Abelard and Abigail - a Blue and a Tortosieshell.
Since then, our Creampoint boy has had a very successful 'career' as a Sire of some very lovely kittens. Some have been high-nosed, some more open faced (as we like them):

Baby Teddy - a Creampoint Boy - Now lives in the South Island as a family pet

Amalie and her brother Shalimar - She is now in Palmerston North as a future NZCF Registered breeding queen. He lives in Brunei with a family of six - a happy family pet.

Another lovely kitten from our boy - Ch Wintoki Sweet Talking Man

Our lovely Champion - straight after the Cat Show - What a big, lovely boy!

My husband Asgeir discusses coming home with Sweet Talking Man.
He says maybe! It's GREAT here, though! I am so well looked after and cuddled and petted by all the girls. (and I LOVE girls!)

Asgeir takes our boy home to our new house. (after telling him that our FELINE girls are all there already!)
And yes, our Berengaria was his first companion in his new quarters. Things went well and we look forward to confirming positive results of this coupling.

We will let you know.......
