We have had a year off breeding kittens, due to relocating and upheavals in our lives. We moved to what we thought was a better place for all of us and it hasn't turned out well. Our Persians' coats are not suited to the country and the dampness of the nearby Waikato river has not been kind to us either. We will have some kittens available next year (2011), so please keep looking here after the New Year. We love our cats, thus we are re-relocating and looking for a home for all of us nearer to the City. Thanks to all of our past Hekla Persians buyers and owners. We appreciate your support.

Lulu! Black female - mischief incorporated! A lively little girl, so much fun!
Lulu is a beautiful pure Black female with glorious eye colour, but she is a handful! An "in your face Cat" - lovely and playful, cuddly and full of purrs. If you like a cat that is always lively and fun, she is the one.
Blueberry, a pure Blue female. A half sister to Lulu, same lively personality, but not as cheeky.
Bluetips, a Blue/Cream Point little charmer, sweet and dainty, has one flaw, a bottom tooth sticks out (see photo). But has the most glorious Blue eyes.

Want a free full-colour "Cat-a-Log" of the kitten colours we breed? Just send us an e-mail with your name, postal address and phone number, stating what colour or gender of kitten you may want and we will send you the "Cat-a-Log" the next day.
We have sent out our Cat-a-Log to several interested people and they think it's great! Want a copy? You don't have to buy a kitten to get one. It's only a guideline as to what colours we breed. Just send an e-mail with your name and address (postal) to receive your copy.
We will be limiting our breeding lines to Black, Sealpoints and Bluepoints for the 2011 season.
Some of our girls are 'retiring' this season, to make way for the 'younger generation.' We will discuss with our girls whether they want to stay here at Hekla Persians (to eat, sleep, run free, cost us heaps of money and be cherished by us) as spays or to go to new homes. If they say they want to 'get away from it all,' we will put their details on our Retiring Queens web page. Watch this space.
We have a loving and lovely girl for adoption. She is "Suzie" - who is 3/4's Persian, thus shorthaired as the longhair gene is recessive. Suzie was part of our breeding program and has produced lovely kittens in the past, who have placed in great homes. But Suzie (who never did produce the Apricot colour we wanted!), has now been spayed. We think she would be really happier in a good and kind home on a one-to-one basis, though she does get on with other cats.

Lady-in-Red has now been spayed. However, she has decided "Home is Best", so she will be staying with us for now!

All kittens are sold with a health guarantee (see 'what to expect when you buy a Hekla Persian kitten' on our home page), flea-free, and free of worms and mites. They are vaccinated, toilet-trained, socialised, friendly and affectionate. Kittens are always sold when they are a minimum of 12 weeks of age, desexed and they would be NZ Cat Fancy registered.
All kittens available can be seen when they are 6 weeks old (for their first visitors).
